The Story
This vineyard sits in Perno, a village in Monforte d’Alba. It has been owned by the Mascarello family since the late 1970s. The terroir is excellent, with west-southwest exposure, and the soil consists of marl, clay, and sand. The different vines in the vineyard include Barbera, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo.
Sour cherries, black cherries, Raspberries, wild strawberries, liquorice and rose evolve on the nose. A little subdued on palate upon first opening but unfurls into a serious lightly poised dolcetto.
